Your Autobiography Title

Recently, my alma mater’s student newspaper, of which I am also an alumna, elected its first-ever all-female managing board.

As part of their recruitment efforts this fall to encourage students to sign up to work on the paper, the five ladies put out a stellar infographic about themselves, which included what they would title their autobiography. (My favorite one was EIC’s Julia Horowitz‘s title: Recalculating Route.)

This got me thinking—what would I title my autobiography? Have you ever thought about your autobiography title? What would it be?

It’s no secret I love celebrity autobiographies, so this infographic wasn’t the first time I’ve thought about a potential title. If Mindy Kaling hadn’t already claimed, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (Among Other Concerns), I would be all over that.

Some days I feel like Unconventional Breakfasts: A Memoir by Katie Urban could really be a best seller. Other times, Home Depot in High Heels really sums up my work day. I’m Better at Facebook Stalking Than You (No Really) ain’t half bad either.

But I think if I had to settle on one for now it would be I Wore Cute Clothes for Nothing (& Other Urban Adventures). What can I say, I have a thing for name puns.

I’d love to know what yours might be!

  1. Hahaha! This is amazing. I love all of your titles (can you write a series….?) and cannot possibly think of what mine would be on the fly. Can you come up with it, pleeeeze? Also, in case we decide to rebrand our blogs 😉

  3. Hehe! I’ve never really thought about this before but I like yours! Mine might be something about, “Get that Out of your Mouth: The Mommy Diaries” or “Yay! You Pooped (and other reasons we celebrate)”

Okay, so this is a cute post and I am totally trying to figure out what mine would be now.

Maybe something like “Everything has a special meaning in life- itis”. Sometimes I get so caught up in everything being connected when it isn’t haha.

  5. Awesome post! You really got me thinking this morning about what I would call my autobiography and I’m drawing a complete blank! This is definitely going to be something I put some thought into because now it’s driving me crazy lol.

This is such a fun way to look at life! I absolutely love the “I’m Better at Facebook Stalking Than You” – literally my life back in college. I guess mine would have to be… “Balancing on Food & Makeup “. Or something along those lines. xo

Funny enough, I do have a title in mind. I don’t know why it’s stuck with me but I thought I was the only one who would choose their own book titles (and me not even a writer).
