How is everyone’s week going? Mine is going well, but it started off on kind of a crazy foot. (If you follow me over on Instagram, you know I visited my youngest sister, Lindsey, with my other sister, Jennifer, at Clemson this weekend!) Jennifer and I were supposed to get back to DC at about 4pm on Sunday night, but because of bad wind and thunderstorms in the Greenville area, we didn’t end up taking off until around 6pm. By the time I was back in Arlington, it was nearly 8:30pm, which on a normal night, would have been a good amount of time to take care of my Sunday rituals and mentally prepare for the week ahead. However, my cousin was in town visiting DC for a few days with work and I really wanted to see him while he was in town, so we did a late family dinner. While I was definitely a bit more tired than usual on Monday morning, it was so worth it!
As was the rest of the weekend—I had the best time visiting Lindsey at Clemson! She is a freshman there, and it was so fun to be back in a college town on a college campus. I loved getting a glimpse of her daily life and seeing her dorm, classrooms, and dining hall. I’m planning on sharing a recap of our trip here on the blog next week—including the afternoon trip we took to Greenville, South Carolina, which is now one of my favorite cities. Besides our last day in town, we really lucked out with the weather—on Friday and Saturday it was in the 70s, with little humidity, and it was so refreshing to just walk around and enjoy the sunshine.
Switching gears to today’s what I (actually) wear to work, a couple of weekends ago, I flipped my closet and moved all my spring stuff to the front and put my winter clothes towards the back. Turns out, that may have been a tiny bit preemptive, but what can I say? I’m excited about rediscovering my favorite warm weather clothes—and adding a few new pieces to the mix.
As far as the new pieces go, back in February, I picked up this black keyhole dress from LOFT since I thought it would be the perfect work dress for the spring and summer months. I love that it’s a classic shape and color, and will be super easy to wear to after work happy hours and events, too. Unfortunately, it’s since sold out, but I’m loving this, this, and this from LOFT for work lately. (Someone needs to hide my credit card from me!)
As a related aside, I’ve recently been placing my LOFT orders online and picking them up at my local store. It saves on shipping and if I have time, I pop into the dressing room to try the pieces on so I can make a return right then if needed. I like the online option because someone finds it in the store for me, and I’m able to avoid any in-store impulse buys.
I’d love to know what you’re wearing to work lately—especially during this awkward transitional weather time!

I knew you’d like Greenville! I am counting down the days until we move there this summer! Main Street reminds me a little of the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville, don’t you think?
I am so jealous you are going to move there — it is such a cute little town and I have a LONG list of restaurants I want to go back to. Main Street does remind me of the Downtown Mall now that you mention it! Go Hoos!
Dying laughing at myself here, because I just left a comment on another blog about loving Loft, but being frustrated that their sizes aren’t uniform enough to order online! It is a brilliant idea to have them delivered to the store to be able to return if necessary. Thank you for sharing that!
Ah yes! I think Loft’s sizing is really inconsistent, too, so just buying online and then trying on in the store has really helped me! x
Looove these subtle polka dots on you. They should be your thing!
Thank you! I love a good polka dot :]
