My Go-To LBD for Holiday Parties

Hi, friends! How is your week going?

My week is a good mix of both productive evenings and fun ones, which is just the way I like it. Last night, I had my coworkers over for a team holiday happy hour. It was the first time they’ve seen my apartment since I moved in, and I really enjoy spending time with them outside of the office. Plus, it’s always fun to host—I love making memories with my favorite people in my little home. Tonight, I’m detoxing and hitting up a spin class and then tomorrow is one of my favorite events of the season—blogger Christmas dinner! This year, we’re skipping gifts to make it easier for everyone and, instead, treating ourselves to a nice dinner out at Kith and Kin at DC’s new Wharf. On Thursday, I’m taking my favorite Orangetheory instructor’s class and, on Friday, I’m rounding out the week at a fun happy hour one of my friends I met through spin class is hosting—I love the community I’ve found there!

Changing topics slightly—who else *loves* getting dressed up for holiday parties?!

I typically rent dresses for my corporate holiday party every year—I wore this one last week and loved it, you can see a snap of it in action here. However, there’s something to be said for having a go-to little black dress in your closet that works for many occasions and you feel confident in. You never know when a last-minute invite might pop up!

the perfect little black dress for holiday parties

I bought Maggy London ruffle crepe dress shown here from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale back in August thinking it would be the perfect little black dress for both work and play. I was really happy when it fit perfectly! Unfortunately, it has since sold out, but Nordstrom still has a great collection of Maggy London dresses and I recently shared another Maggy London dress I’m loving lately in this post.

Maggy London has quickly become one of my favorite brands for buying “nice” dresses—the quality is excellent and the price point is within my budget. Definitely size up from your normal dress size if you’re in-between sizes—I’ve found that Maggy London tends to run on the smaller side.

And, of course, I can’t get enough of these glitter block heels from Old Navy for holiday celebrations! They’re super comfortable, too.

I hope you all are having a fun and festive week! x
