It’s here y’all! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opened to card holders today and opens to the general public on July 20.
I know if you’re a blog reader, you’re probably inundated with posts about the sale. I totally feel you on that one, and know that seeing posts about it over-and-over again can get old real quick. So, I promise I’ll only do this ONE post on the sale.
Last year was the first year I really personally shopped the sale seriously. I’ll be honest—I spent nearly $1,000 stocking up and refreshing my wardrobe, and even though that’s a huge chunk of money, I can honestly say a year later that I still use 90% of the items I bought. This year, I’m being a little more conservative, mostly because all those basics I stocked up on last year are in great shape.
I will also be upfront in that I put together a big post on this sale because it’s a great way for me to make some extra money off affiliate links for my blog. If you’re unfamiliar, if you click on one of my Nordstrom links below and then buy something from the sale, I make a small commission off your purchase. Last year, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale post I put together was the highest-grossing post I wrote all year, which helps me pay for things like hosting, site security, the domain name, paid plugins to enhance your time on my site, etc. I so appreciate all your support—and trust me when I say though, my day job pays my rent! If you have any questions about how affiliate links work, don’t hesitate to reach out.
A couple of quick tips before I share my favorites with you:
- Nordstrom has free shipping and free returns. Use this to your advantage. You should have seen my cart yesterday. I bought my favorite items in multiple colors and sizes to try them on and see what I like—but also snag backups in case items sell out.
- If something is sold out online, check back often! Nordstrom is known to restock items throughout the sale, especially right before it opens to the general public on July 20. And, if something is sold out online, it could still be in your local store.
Alright, enough chat, let’s get shopping!
This looks like the cutest dress for both a more conservative office like mine or a fun event—like a wedding or special girls night out. Once I get it in the mail, I’ll let you all know if it’s a keeper!
Gibson has long been one of my favorite brands at Nordstrom, and I’ve had my eye on a wrap top like this for work for a while. At $40, this one is a steal—and it comes in four colors! As a surprise to no one, I opted for the black—I think it will look so cute with black crop pants.
I purchased a Barefoot Dreams circle cardigan last Anniversary Sale and I can honestly say I lived in it all winter long. It is the most comfortable, thick cardigan you will ever own! I also love traveling with it—it makes a great plane blanket! Definitely snag one now as these don’t really go on sale.
Natori bras are beyond and away the best bras I’ve ever owned, and if you’re looking to upgrade your Victoria’s Secret Collection, I can’t recommend these enough. This is my favorite style, and it comes in five colors—including a black and nude, which are always good staples.
Two years ago in the 2016 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I bought a very similar pair of Vince Camuto booties that I’ve worn at least three times a week for the past two winters—and they are still going strong! Vince Camuto’s booties are a great multi-season investment and don’t take a ton of time, if any, to break in. You can see my version here.
I basically live in Zella leggings on Saturdays and Sundays during the winter—they are the best! I love the high-waisted ones especially. I personally tend to work out in the Old Navy compression pants, but these are my go-to loungewear pair. At $35, these are the cheapest you’re going to see them all year! You can see them on me here and here.
I’ve owned the white version of this coat for two years now, and without a doubt, it is the best winter coat I’ve ever owned. It is worth every penny. I describe it as the fashionable sleeping back I can wear. I love that unlike most big puffer coats, it’s not ribbed.
Last year I bought a mid-weight Patagonia jacket for those days when it’s not cold enough for my huge puffer, but too cold for a simple wool jacket. It was such a good purchase since brand-name coats rarely go on mega sale. They don’t have a Patagonia this year, but this North Face jacket is very similar to what I bought last year—and I love that it has a hood!
In college, I saved my money for months to be able to afford a pair of black Tory Burch Revas—they were my prized possession for a long time and I still have them. I love the classic shape of these Tory Burch Benton flats, and love a blush shoe—it’s a great neutral! At a little over $150, it’s a great price point for something you’ll have for many years.
These are my favorite socks to wear with sneakers when I’m working out because I love the no sock look, but hate not actually wearing socks with my sneakers.
There’s nothing I love more than watching my money burn ;]. I bought this diptyque set in last year’s sale and was so glad I did. These little votives are such a treat to have around, and make great small gifts for friends, too. It’s a great way to figure out what your favorite diptyque scent without dropping a ton of money on a candle.
These Vince flats are on the pricier side at $189, but I’ve been thinking about treating myself because I know I’d wear these at work so often during the fall and winter months. I love buying neutral shoes because they go with everything—but if that isn’t your style, this pair also comes in five other colors.
Clearly, I’m very into the tie-front look right now. I think think this $30 t-shirt dress is such a cute look, and would be a perfect lightweight option to throw in your suitcase for a late summer vacation. It’s currently sold out in my size, but I am crossing my fingers for a restock.
I’m always on the hunt for a great white blouse for work that isn’t see through, and I just picked this one up today. It’d be great sleeveless for the summer, and will pair nicely with a blazer or cardigan come cooler temps. It also comes in a variety of other colors in patterns.
I’m attending a wedding in September that I am so excited about! One of my best buys from the sale last year was an Eliza J dress that I wear to work all the time, so I was excited to order this floral fit and flare dress to give it a try for my friends’ upcoming nuptials.
I bought this Nike tank a few years ago, and still wear it to spin and OTF all the time. It holds up great in the wash, and none of the Nike logo or swoosh has faded off. Not going to lie—I feel like a baller whenever I wear this shirt, hah!
I own at least five pairs of black + white Nike sneakers and have no shame—they are such a classic staple in my athleisure wardrobe. These are a great option under $100 if you’re in the market!
I absolutely love the color on this one—it’d be such a fun dress for the holiday season! I also love dresses with this neckline for work since it’s a more conservative cut.
I haven’t been able to justify a pair of rag & bone jeans for myself since I mostly gravitate towards black denim and my office doesn’t allow jeans Monday-Thursday. But, if I was going to splurge on good denim, it’d 100% be on this pair of rag & bone jeans!
You should totally buy the flats!! They are so “you.”
Eek, I held out, but maybe I will snag them in the future! x
Love this blog, so many great ideas.
Thanks so much, Jill! x
Love your picks! I’m trying not to pick too much up this year either with other expenses on the horizon, but I can’t resist a few things!
I am the same way — but it’s so hard to not treat yourself from time to time!
