Y’all want to know what really stresses me out?
Moving.
Now don’t get me wrong—I love the idea of starting fresh and switching up my space. And considering my current microwave is from 1993, I’m excited about the prospect of joining the modern era of appliances.
But just imagining the prospect of packing up my life and moving it from one home to another? I get exhausted just thinking about it, and I haven’t even so much as thought about buying packing tape yet. As you probably could expect, I have a lot of sh*t.
(All I’m going to say is TGFM—thank gawd for movers!)
So, if you haven’t inferred by now—my roommate and I are moving when our lease is up at the end of June. It’s definitely time for us to move on from our first apartment we’ve called home as adults. I moved into this unit back in September 2013, a few months after college graduation and J moved in about a year later.
We love our current location, the amenities—a gym, a pool, an awesome courtyard, and have befriended the concierges due to our shared penchant for online shopping.
But get this—the rent is so damn high around here that J actually lives in our sunroom, which is essentially a glass fishbowl. As in, she doesn’t have a real door. So now that we’re both making a little more money than we were three years ago, we’re going to splurge and get a true two bedroom.
Wild, I know.
So we took a few hours out of this amazingly beautiful spring weekend and sorted through our options. We think we found a great one, but we should know more in the next few days if it works out. Fingers crossed for us!
When we weren’t sorting out our July move, I spent as much time as I could outside because the weather was literally perfect. Don’t you love it when you can just leave home without any jackets?
Monica and I shot these pictures down on the Old Town Alexandria waterfront, and I hope we can get down there more this spring. There’s something so nice about being on the water! Hope you had a great weekend! x

I love moving! It’s the feeling of starting fresh that really gets me. My husband and I are actually moving to Arlington later this summer, and I cannot wait to trash a ton of stuff in the lead up to the move!! That said – totally with you on TGFM!!!

UGHHHH moving is basically one of the most stressful things, because aside from money and logistics, it’s hard to find that “right” place! Keep us posted on how that all goes.
Also, these photos turned out beautifully! The waterfront looks like a fun place to hang out at this time of year!
