10 Things I Want for Spring

How was everyone’s weekend?

I kept mine low key as last week was really busy for me at my day job. I hit up Orangetheory on Friday night, which has quickly become one of my favorite ways to kick off the weekend. On Saturday night, my best friend and I had a chill “date night” and went to Copperwood Tavern, which is one of our local favorites, and then watched a documentary on Tonya Harding. The highlight, however, was grabbing brunch with Bitches Who Brunch at Urban Butcher up in Silver Spring on Sunday morning. I’ll be sharing more about brunch tomorrow—but, spoiler alert: the food was delicious.

Switching gears to the topic of today’s post: some spring 2018 fashion finds. Yeah, yeah—I know, it’s still January. But this 60-degree-day streak we’ve been enjoying has me eying warm-weather fashion! Even though it’ll probably be snowing again next week, now is the perfect time to start buying for spring or a warm weather escape since retailers are stocked up with all sizes and the cutest styles.

I have a feeling my building concierge is going to be seeing a lot more of me in the coming weeks as I’ll be picking up some good online purchases! Here’s what I want to add to my closet for spring—let me know if you’ve found anything good I need to add to my cart:

Kendra Scott’s spring collection is so good y’all. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, I cannot recommend it enough. My favorite piece in the collection are these statement earrings. I love these blush hues, but they also come in a blue and neutral.

Shop

I really love white lace tops—as evidenced here—and love the detailing on this asymmetrical English Factory one. It is on the pricier side for a see-through top ($84), but I have a feeling if I purchase it, this will be one of those blouses I wear any chance I get.

Shop

love pointy toed flats—I think I only own one rounded-toe pair anymore. These would be perfect for work, and are neutral enough that they could go with pretty much everything in my closet.

Shop

Halogen is a Nordstrom-only brand, and it’s become one of my favorite lines to buy dresses for work from. I grabbed this one—it’s on sale for under $50!—a couple of weeks ago, and love the pattern and the sleeves. It does run really large—I sized down to a small.

Shop

Ann Taylor is my favorite place to shop for workwear, and I thought this skirt was fun and flirty, while still appropriate for the office. It’d be the perfect desk-to-drinks option. I love how they have it paired here with a good block heel.

Shop

It’s no secret I love a good statement earring, and I’ve been really into pink ones lately. This pair from Baublebar would be the perfect statement with a more neutral outfit, and I think they’d look great with a bright solid color—like a yellow!—too. I also love Baublebar because their statement earrings aren’t heavy, so it’s easy to wear them all day.

Shop

BP sunglasses from Nordstrom are my absolute favorite. I used to spend a ton of money on sunglasses, but I wear mine all the time and didn’t want to worry so much about damaging or losing them. I bought this pair last year and use them daily. I don’t shoot these for the blog often since the mirrors make it hard!

Shop

J Crew Factory is one of my favorite places to buy basics, and this classic navy stripe shirt is made a little more special with the ruffle detailing. At only $25, this would be the perfect top for the weekend or casual Friday!

Shop

This top combines two of my favorite things—bell sleeves and peplum! I’d 100% wear this top to work, and think it’d look great dressed down with white jeans. I have quite a few LOFT gift cards from Christmas, and I’ve already put this blouse in my cart!

Shop

During the winter months, I tend to wear all black, all the time. So when warmer weather rolls around, I love to dress in color again. This is a beautiful dress that would be great for work! I’m also considering it for Easter since I have a feeling it’ll be a chillier one this year.

  3. Yes, come on spring! I can’t wait to switch out my closet for spring clothes! I really like the sunglasses you’ve picked out. I feel like the gold bar would mimic a uni-brow though?! I want to try them on to see!

I’m with you on the sunnies front. I lose them so much it’s just not worth spending a small fortune on them.
