Happy weekend, team! It’s hard to believe I have been back from Hawaii for over a month now. It was a trip that we looked forward to a while—and unlike some that seem to fly by, I felt like we really had a chance to savor it. I wanted to share another outfit I shot with Stephanie while I was on Oahu today—blue, pink, and green is one of my favorite color combinations, so I love how these photos turned out! The Royal Hawaiian is the second oldest hotel in Waikiki and its grounds are just so stunning—I am so grateful we were able to check in for a week and really get to know the property. (All you Mad Men fans might recognize it from Don Draper’s trip to Hawaii in the final season!)
Although Hawaii is behind us, I have a busy travel schedule coming up the next few months. This week, I am heading to Puerto Rico for a long weekend to see two of my old coworkers get married—I have never been and I am so excited to go! It should be a great weekend celebrating two great people, with lots of catching up with friends and tropical cocktails on the agenda. Two weeks after that, I am heading to Chicago for my cousin’s wedding. While I always have fun at my friends’ weddings, there is nothing like a family wedding—my family rolls deep and we just always have the best time. In May, I’ve got trips to Austin, Scottsdale, and Ocean City, Maryland lined up. Then in June, I’m down in Wilmington for my friend Kristyn’s wedding and then I’m spending a week at Ocean Isle Beach with most of my mom’s extended family! After that, I am scaling back on travel for a bit, so you’ll find me at home on my balcony enjoying the dog days of summer.
Regardless of what trip I am packing for, I know this Striped Print Tie Shoulder Ruffle Hem Cami Dress is coming with me!
Now let’s talk about this Striped Print Tie Shoulder Ruffle Hem Cami Dress—I am not a huge Shein shopper, but every now and then I poke around on the site. Last summer, I was looking for a striped blue and white maxi dress after seeing one on Lauren Akins’ Instagram and falling in love with the look. While this one isn’t the same as hers, it’s very similar, and when it showed up at my doorstep, I knew it was a keeper. (Red Dress boutique has a similar option that I love, too!) While the quality isn’t the best, you get what you pay for—that being said, it is such a great dress to travel with because it doesn’t wrinkle at all. And, the tie straps make this a very forgiving option.
I also want to turn you onto this Raffia Knot Headband! I actually lost mine in Hawaii—I think I put it down between outfit changes somewhere and forgot to grab it. I rarely lose things and was so mad at myself because it is one of my go-tos. I was so relieved to see they still sell it online and I ordered one literally while I was still in Hawaii. It’s a great addition to any warm weather outfit—it’s one of those great headbands that doesn’t hurt at all.

Katie –
Love the blue striped dress and want to add it to my summer wardrobe— but I don’t love having to hem anything 😉 I’m 5’ 3”, do you think I’d need to get the dress hemmed?
Thanks!
Jenn
Thank you so much! I am 5’4″ so I don’t think you’ll have to hem!
