I’ve never been much for transitions.
Whether it’s the transition from one stage or life to another—see college to the ‘real world’—or the transition between the seasons, I dislike the lack of predictability.
For instance, I took these pictures a few weeks ago a few days after it snowed. It was absolutely freezing and the wind needed to ‘do less’ as the kids say these days.
The following day?
A balmy 65 with not a gust of wind in sight. Go figure.
So until the weather is a predictable 70—and hopefully sunny—I’ll be living in this red toggle coat.
In stark contrast to my dark winter wear, this bright outwear is the perfect pop of color for spring. Even if it is only 50 outside.
It’s heavy enough that it keeps me warm enough on those crisp mornings, but lightweight enough I won’t be sweating if I choose to wear it as a fashion statement during the lunch hour.
Paired with my favorite crop pants and clutch like I did here, with jeans, or with a classic shift dress, this is the perfect desk to drinks coat.
Yet as perfect as it is, here’s to hoping this is the last time it makes an appearance in outfit pictures until fall.
Or, at least with no snow on the ground.

Love the jacket and how bold the red is!
Thanks girl! xo
What a great coat! I love toggle coats, and this bright red version really is perfect to brighten up the days until spring temps are here! Love it!
Thanks! Could not agree more — hopefully the temps are here sooner rather than later.
I hear you on this transitional weather! I’ve had enough! Where is the warm weather?? On a positive note, I love this classic red toggle coat!! It’s the perfect alternative to a heavy puffer coat while we wait for spring to stick around 🙂

WHERE IS IT?! Truer words have not been spoken. I am so over my puffer jacket that even if I need it, I refuse to wear it!
This is so cute and bright, perfect for this weird in-between weather stage! I love those d’orsay flats too – have been looking for some comfortable ones!
Thanks, Maddy! I own several pairs and it doesn’t matter the brand – they all take a bit to be worn in, but once you do, it’s so worth it! xo
Love it! Red is my favorite color so of course I love a good, red coat. Those toggles are so fun! Thanks for linking those crops. I’ve been wanting to get a pair! =)
Thanks Miranda! LOVE the J Crew Minnie – I have had mine for three years, and they hold up really well! Let me know what you think :]
Transitions can be a challenge! I really like the coat, and I LOVE your Aviators!
