Above is a photo of me recording said podcast and talking with my hands, hah!
About a month ago, my friends Stephanie and Sadie reached out to me and asked if I would be an inaugural guest on their new podcast, Word to the Rise, which highlights individuals who are still on the rise of their career and making their way in the modern working world. I immediately said yes (!!!) because I thought it would be really fun to support my friends in this way and record an episode.
We recorded the episodes a few Sundays ago and I was definitely a little nervous going into it! Like many people, I am not the biggest fan of my voice—it sounds so weird to hear yourself on tape!—and I wanted to make sure what I said was clear and interesting. But when I arrived, Stephanie, Sadie, and I sat around and chatted for half an hour or so to get warmed up and that really put me at ease. After that, we turned the mics on and, honestly, it felt like we were just continuing our conversation!
My episode dropped today, and you can listen to it HERE! We talk about my career path so far, my grad school program, why I started my blog, my day job, how I can travel so often, my passion for The View, and so much more. I’d love for you to listen to it and subscribe to the podcast—I’m just one in a great lineup of guests!
If I hadn’t started my blog, it’s likely I would have never met Stephanie and Sadie, and never had this cool opportunity to share my story in a fun way. As an avid podcast listener, this was definitely a really special moment for me—and I am excited to get to share it with y’all today! x
This is so exciting for you! What a cool opportunity.
Thank you so much!
I didn’t realize you did the PR Master’s program at Georgetown until listening to the podcast! I’m interested in that program but definitely need to look into it more and weigh the pros and cons. Thanks for sharing!
Yes! I did — I completed the program in 2016! I have some posts on it here if you search grad school 🙂
So fun! Thanks so much for sharing your story it was so inspiring and appreciate your friendship!
SOOOOOO appreciate both you and Stephanie! I had the best time with you both! x
