Happy, happy Friday!
I thought I’d mix up how I do link love—don’t worry, the actual links won’t go anywhere since I know those are a fan favorite. Let me know what you think of this new format in the comments below!
// What Went Down This Week
Last Sunday, I went to a fun blogger brunch at new Arlington hotspot Quinn’s on the Corner. Their sister restaurants are Copperwood Tavern and Orange Anchor, both of which I love, and Quinn’s is no exception. They have pineapple mimosas—pictured above—which were to die for, and I can’t recommend the fries enough—we ordered two sides for the table ;]. I opted for the classic two egg American breakfast since I’d had a little too much fun the night before at Kristyn‘s housewarming party, but definitely will get the crab cake BLT the next time I’m back. If you’re looking for a place to brunch this weekend, definitely check Quinn’s out!
Other than that, my weekend was so calm, which was a welcome change. For the first time since I can remember, I had no plans after work. That’s right. All I had to do was come home, go to the gym, watch television, or do whatever my mood was telling me to do. I loved it, and because I had some extra time, I was able to finally sign up for Tailwind to start maximizing Pinterest as a tool to grow my blog. You can follow me on Pinterest here if you don’t already. If you’re interested in signing up for Tailwind, feel free to use my referral link—we both get $15!
// What I’m Up to This Weekend
Tonight I’m heading to the Grand Opening of the Westfield Montgomery Lucky Strike bowling alley with Monica and Victoria. Then, tomorrow, I’m meeting up with Bree to talk blog strategy and shoot a few new spring looks for the blog—but, go figure, it’s supposed to be in the 40s.
I’m also celebrating my little sister’s 18th birthday! Where does the time go? I still remember the day she was born—I was in the second grade and she was born right before a big snow storm. My Grandma came to keep me and Jennifer, and once Lindsey was born, my parents let us pick her name—don’t worry, they only gave us two options ;]. Happy birthday, Lindsey!
Whatever y’all are up to this weekend, I hope you have a great one!
// What I’m Listening to Right Now
I can’t get enough of Angels in this Town by Eric Paslay. I also just started the podcast Fat Mascara after it was recommended to me by my friend Emma.
// What’s In My Shopping Cart
I’m LOVING the J Crew Factory sale right now—it runs through March 5, and everything is 50% off! Added bonus is that you get an additional 20% off when you spend $100 or more. To top it off, free shipping on everything! Here are a few of the things I’ve bought—i.e. basically the whole store.
On one other note, it’s the “Friends of Ann” event meaning everything at Ann Taylor is 40% off! I love their modern skinny jeans—I own them in white and this denim wash—and their ponte skinny ankle pants are my go-to work pant.
- The typography fix that could have stopped the Oscars Best Picture fiasco.
- I loved this video of Former President George W Bush on Ellen talking about his portraits of veterans.
- Related, I loved this article on his friendship with Michelle Obama.
- An architect turns an old cement factory into his home and it’s stunning.
- Cathy shares how she was able to grow her Interesting following by 3,000 in two months.
- An interesting read on why cheese is bad for you (say it ain’t so).
- Emma Watson explains her strict no-selfie policy with fans.
- The cutest lace-up espadrille sandals ever.
Tailwind is so addicting! Happy Pinning!!
Also, WHY IS IT SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE 40s THIS WEEKEND?! Need the spring weather to return ASAP!
Have a great weekend!
