We made it, y’all—happy Friday!
This weekend should be a fun, family-filled one—I am heading to Harrisonburg, Virginia to see my middle sister, Jennifer, graduate from college, it’s my Mom’s birthday, and it’s Mother’s day! (Hi, Mom—love you!)
It’s nice that all of these activities fall on the weekend after finals for grad school. I turned in my last paper on Wednesday, and we celebrated in class with pizza and a life chat. I can’t think of a better way to cap off the first semester of class. I hope you had an equally carb-filled week and a stacked weekend ahead. To tide you over until closing time, here’s what I’ve been reading this week:
- The way Snickers takes advantage of amusing fails across the state of of New York is hilarious.
- The only time I’ve ever seen Comic Sans look, dare I say, good.
- My heart goes out to Sheryl Sandberg. Her words about her late Dave Goldberg are gracious and beautiful.
- A brilliant way this woman used a Pizza Hut order form when she was being held hostage.
- Ellen cried, I cried—I think it’s safe to say you will all cry when you hear about this selfless kindergarten teacher.
- An excellent read on why diets don’t actually work.
- If you want to feel old, here are 23 reminders of what the world was like when the class of 2015 was born.
- A relatable read on the state of dating in modern times.
Have a wonderful time in Virginia! That is so cool about your mom what an extra special precious day! Great links and great reads! Enjoy the weekend to the fullest!!

Small world! Hope you had a nice one :] xo
I have avoided reading Sheryl Sandberg’s tribute because I know I’d bawl my way through it. I just saw that pizza delivery/hostage story on a news show. Amazingly smart of her to do that! BuzzFeed is always making me feel super old. Does this generation even understand the importance of Harry Potter? Do they? Haha!
Aw, I totally cried at my desk at work when I read it! Haha you’re going to kill me, but I actually never really liked Harry Potter as a kid or read the books :x, but I am going to go with, no, no they don’t!
I’m still so impressed by your mardi gras DIY! I need to start brainstorming a fun mardi gras bead canvas I can do… 😉
Aw thank you so much! You should totally do it – and they are scalable too! So no need to do a 24 x 36″! xo
thanks for another awesome round of link love! def checking these out now – have a great time in Virginia!

Thanks so much! xo
Those are such great links, especially the one about Sheryl Sandberg. I love when women speak so highly of their husbands. That Pizza Hut receipt was also so clever and I’m happy that the Pizza Hut employees noticed and responded rather than assuming it was a joke. Bravo to them.
I could not agree more, Ashley! Hope you had a nice weekend :]
Love this roundup… I have seen that Ellen video before, it totally made me cry!!
