TGIF, friends! Sadly, I don’t have work off on Monday like a lot of you, BUT I do get to host a superhero-themed take your kids to work day event at the office.
My teammates and I have been hard at work on it all week (hence the lack of posts here!), and I have to ask—how did people plan things before Pinterest? We’ve set up our photo booth, wrapped our water bottles with cute labels, and created a lot of decor based on inspiration we’ve found there. This ain’t no Party City shindig, y’all!
Don’t worry though, this will not become a Mommy blog anytime soon, and we’ll be back to regular programming next week. Until then, have a great Valentine’s Day!
- Just another reason to love Kerry Washington. (Seriously considered stalking her, y’all.)
- 50 pictures that look just like your childhood. Um, hello #20.
- These 23 historical facts are so cool, they’ll destroy your concept of time.
- Legendary basketball Coach Dean Smith died this week. I loved this ESPN article honoring him, entitled ‘Precious Memories.’
- In blogging, as in life, don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle.
- 26 foods you should learn to cook in your twenties.
- Loving this South Moon Under fold over striped clutch!
- Want two free bottles of wine? Club W delivers them right to your doorstep!
- Anyone else have hoards of Beanie Babies at home that didn’t end up being enough to pay for college?
I always love your link round ups (: Thank you for sharing, Katie!!

Needed that blogging article on comparing beginnings to middles! Definitely helped me lift my spirits about blogging-been feeling a little discouraged lately! Thanks, girl!
I completely agree! It’s hard when you go through cycles – but remember, someone else’s success is not your failure! xo
These are great links…thank you for sharing! 🙂
Thanks girl! xo
Yay, another great roundup! Sorry you don’t have Monday off from work – I don’t get it off from school either! Boooo!
xx, Mikkaela
Booo!! We can commiserate together. Hope you had a good one!
I do lovely Kerry Washington as well. She’s amazing.
SO GREAT! I love that she went to Washington.
Great round up! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Chelley! xo
I like the link to 20 things you should learn to cook in your twenties. I’m such a foodie and have come to realize so many young people don’t know how to cook. Maybe growing up with too much fast foods or boxed foods are to blame.
Thanks Laurie! Me too – I really want to try the mussels. Who knew those could be done so easily?!
Thank you so much for including my post in your link love roundup. Loved reading your others as well. The best part about working a holiday is less distractions and getting stuff done.
Of course, Nicole! Thanks for writing it – I LOVED the post, and I think it’s so cool that Julia commented on it :] Thanks for stopping by! xo
Great link up! Thanks for sharing!

Boo! Glad I am not the only one that had to work :] She is super cool! I hope she saw Fitz while she was in town ;]
What a fun theme! Hopefully you can share some pics of the fun!
26 seems like a lot of foods. I can handle a few of the things on the list, then there are some I would not touch with a ten-foot pole and some that I would like to try at some point. And then there are cookies, which have always defeated me. I don’t know why I can’t turn out a decent batch of cookies. I haven’t tried in years, though, so maybe next time.
