Y’all—I had one job, which was to get this white dress post up before Labor Day weekend. But alas, here we are.
Better late than never, right?
But if y’all are into shopping the end-of-season sales, I can’t recommend this La Paloma Madewell Dress enough. I wore it everywhere this summer: Charleston, New Orleans, Ocean City. I’m pretty sure that you’ve seen it so much on my Instagram that you’ve probably started to wonder if I own any other clothes. It’s lightweight, but still has a full lining, which is v. important since it is white. And the embroidery detailing on it is impeccable. September is basically still summer—or so I tell myself—so if you’re feeling it, definitely treat yourself.
Surprisingly, I opted to stay home for Labor Day Weekend. (Sidenote—does anyone else think Tim McGraw’s Something Like That should be the official song of LDW?) It’s the first time in two years I’ve hung out in DC over the long weekend, but after all the travel the past month, my bed, home cooked meals, and my DVR all had my name on it.
My family kicked off the weekend last night at the Zac Brown Band Concert. (I’m not just saying this, but I wore this dress. Perfect for traveling, perfect for country concerts.) It seriously was one of the best concerts I’ve been too. While it’s hard to beat the energy of Luke Bryan, and Kenny Chensey put on a great show with a lot of fun videos, ZBB had the most incredible band.
I mean the violinist played most of the show with his eyes closed. I can’t even sing on tune.
They played a lot of crowd pleasers, like Homegrown and Chicken Fried, and I also found some new favorites, like Sweet Annie or Tomorrow Never Comes. It was such a good concert, I wish I could go back tonight. Needless to say, I’ll be buying tickets the next time they come through the DC area.
Monica and I shot this look in Charleston in two places I shot outfits last year—near the Charleston City Market (On Vacationing) and on Chalmers Street (Playing Tourist). We’re creatures of habit for sure, but both are two of my favorite places in Charleston, so definitely check them out if you’re in town! (My complete Charleston Travel Guide is here.)
