Happy Wednesday, friends! Don’t you love a short week?
Today is my first day back at work in 2018, and I will say, I feel refreshed and ready to tackle a new year. Over break, I made myself a list of things I wanted to accomplish or do—read for pleasure on my couch for a couple of hours, complete my LastPass security challenge and update easy/duplicate passwords, add my 2017 posts to my Pinterest Tailwind queue, meal prep dinners and easy breakfasts, deliver a draft of a freelance project, back up my computer. I’m happy to report back the I was able to check everything off my list, and am so glad I took some time to “do me.” Everyone has their own way of relaxing, and since I’m not a huge veg-on-the-couch person, checking these long-term, low priority tasks off my list really made me happy.
Since it’s back to the real world for me today, I wanted to also get things back to normal here on the blog with a regular posting schedule. In this new year, I’m going to try to get you new posts MWF, and while I’m sure there will be conflicts that prevent this from time to time, I’ll do my best! (This week, I’ll have a post for you tomorrow, too—the benefits of vacation!)
The irony is not lost on me that I’m posting a cocktail recipe just three days into Dry January, but I had meant to share this during the holiday season and just never had time to edit the photos. I actually shared this recipe a couple of years ago, but wanted to re-post it with updated photos since it’s one of my all-time favorite sangrias and I wanted to do it photographic justice.
If you’re also doing Dry January, this would be the perfect drink to celebrate with on February 1, and if you’re not, I definitely recommend giving this sangria a whirl this weekend—it’s the perfect drink for these cold winter nights we’ve been having here on the East Coast.
Recipe is below—cheers! x
Ingredients
- 1 bottle of red wine
- 12 ounces of IZZE Sparkling Pomegranate
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/3 cup brandy
- 1 lime sliced into rounds
- 1 apple, diced
- Sugar to taste
Directions
- Combine red wine, IZZE Sparkling Pomegranate, brandy, and orange juice in pitcher and stir. Add sugar to taste if needed. (I added about 1/8 of a cup.)
- Cut fruit and add to pitcher.
- Let sit, and chill if desired, for at least three hours. Then, enjoy!
Yum! This sounds and looks amazing! It’s my first day back too- woof it feels like Monday!
