TODAY IS MY LAST DAY OF CLASS EVER!
Please send me good vibes around 5:35 tonight when I will be pitching my Capstone project to a panel of faculty. I am very nervous, but M and I spent pretty much all afternoon yesterday practicing and critiquing each other. It was so helpful, and I am glad we were able to support each other.
I’ll be honest that even though it’s been super festive on the blog, I’ve been delayed in getting into the holiday spirit this year. (That, or it peaked around November 1.) It was very mentally draining to have a huge project hanging over my head this December, so I am excited to finally get this off my plate. I am also wrapping up a huge project at work, so as 2017 approaches, I am experiencing a slight existential crisis on what to spend my time on. Though I know that as these doors close, there are other doors opening. At the very least, I’ll have more time to spend on this blog, and hopefully, go to the gym ;]
I know y’all are as ready for me to stop talking about grad school as I am ready to be done talking about grad school. I do want to write one last reflection post about the experience, but after that, I promise I will change the subject!
While most were out at holiday parties this weekend, I stayed in to work and crush the new season of Fuller House. However, I was able to sneak out of the house on Saturday afternoon for a wonderful open house that Hilary and Marcus hosted and of course needed something fun to wear. (I went skiing with them earlier this year and Ubered down the mountain. True story.)
I love the black-on-black look anytime of year, but this time of year especially. After all those cranberry cocktails, I need a slimming look, you know? But, I love channeling my inner Mariah Carey as much as the next person, so I really wanted to be festive even while wearing all black. Enter: velvet and lace.
This LOFT Lace Peplum Top has become a fast favorite since I picked it up a few months ago. Perfect for work with a cardigan or sans one for after close of business, I love that the lace detailing is done in a leopard print.
Paired with these velvet patterned leggings (#shhh) I picked up at the LFOT outlet two black Fridays ago and my favorite J Crew Factory Leopard Calf Hair D’Orsay Pumps, it’s a fun look for the holidays that is perfect for colder December days like this past weekend.
Cheers! x
