My Best Beauty Secret for Bare Legs Season

Bare legs and vacation season is upon us, ladies!

And you know what that means—no more going three or more days between shaving. Ah, the price we pay for beauty.

So, I wanted to let you in on what is perhaps my best beauty tip. (Besides using conditioner instead of shave gel when you run out, that’s a pretty good trick I learned from the Mary Kate & Ashley Magazine, but I digress.) Who knows—you might swear by this tip, too, since it’s a good one.

Back in 2014, when I had a busy summer heading out of town to a beach or other warm weather destination every couple of weekends, I realized my women’s razor just wasn’t going to cut it anymore. I went to Target, found a men’s razor on sale, and never looked back.

So, when the folks over at Harry’s reached out about sending me their Truman Razor Set for a test-drive, I knew I had to give it a whirl. Monica has long been a fan of the brand, and with trips to Miami, Charleston, and Palm Beach in the next two months, I knew it was the perfect time to prep for bare legs season by upping my razor game. I’ve been using my orange Truman—I am obsessed with the color—for about two weeks now and wanted to give y’all the scoop on my experience.

Spoiler alert: I loved it.

If you’ve never used a men’s razor before—fear not. And if you have—I promise you’ll really like Harry’s options. Plus, can we talk about the amazing branding? Their products look good in my shower, y’all.

The Truman starter set comes in three colors—orange, blue, and green. Plus, you get your pick of foaming gel or shave cream* and it comes with two additional blades. At $15, the price point for all that you receive is a great deal. And once you have the razor body, you can buy blade refills for as little as $1.75. You can also buy the Truman razor as a stand-alone for just $9 if that’s more your speed.

(* I will note that the shave gel scent is very manly, so most nights I rely on the trusty shave gel I pick up from Trader Joe’s instead.)

With five blades, a lubricating strip, and flexible hinge, my legs are smooth and knick-free—perfect for all those dresses I’ve been favoring lately. Definitely look into Harry’s if you’re wanting to up your pre-summer beauty routine.

PS—Harry’s also offers another razor called The Winston, which has a stainless steel handle. Added bonus—you can get it engraved so it would make a wonderful gift!

I was using a women’s razor for so long and was so against how expensive the replacement heads were that I was using a super dull blade AND THEN I tried Harry’s too (definitely stole my fiance’s but shhh) and I cut myself the first two times I used it because I wasn’t used to such a nice, sharp blade. I immediately had to go buy my own and it is AMAZING. The shaves are SO close!!

But ditto to the ~man~ smell….it smells great on him but I’d rather not haha. So glad we’re in agreement!
