Thanks so much for all you responses on my 2016 reader survey yesterday! If you have time, I would love for you to fill it out. I’ll leave it open until next Monday. Y’all are the best! xo
Who else is excited spring seems to finally be here to stay?!
I spent Saturday afternoon at Bull Run Winery with my sorority sister, Lauren, who I hadn’t seen in nearly two years. What started out as a gray, rainy, chilly day blossomed into the perfect spring afternoon. It was nearly 70 degrees and sunny, with virtually no humidity, which is a rare treat here in Virginia. We had an absolute blast and it was one of those days you’re glad to be alive. It also made me yearn for the days when I have a real backyard again! Nothing beats a lawn, picnic tables, and twinkle lights, you know?
Not to mention, Saturday was my second weekend out on the Virginia wine trail in a row, and I am excited to make that three weekends straight this coming Saturday as my sorority little and her new husband are in town for the weekend!
While this Saturday, I opted for an outfit very similar to this one, I am excited to break out this Glamorous Off Shoulder Tribal Mini Dress this weekend. I picked it up on Shopbop recently for $40! It’s my first off shoulder dress, but definitely not my last.
A word to the wise—if you’re going to buy this dress, definitely order a size or two down. I usually wear an 8 in dresses, but the medium was way too big. (Shopbop exchanges are free and really easy!) I also love that the dress is fully lined, which is especially important since, you know, it’s white!
I paired the dress with my Dolce Vita lace up wedges, which I have been wearing non-stop lately. The heel height is low enough I can wear them all day at work, and not even have to switch into flats for the commute. If you’re looking for a comfy and chic take on the lace up trend, I can’t recommend these enough.
Monica and I shot these pictures a couple of weekends ago in Georgetown at the same time we shot my favorite maxi dress.
Let me tell y’all, outfit pictures never get less weird and awkward, especially when we shoot in a very public place. These pictures were taken on one of the busiest streets in Georgetown right on the C&O Canal next to Baked and Wired. On our walk over from the parking garage where we change looks (#glamorous), I got cat called no less than three times. All in a day’s work.

Thanks lady! xo
I absolutely love all and any off the shoulder dresses! Especially those that have the ruffle like yours does. And I always crack up at how many awkward situations occur when I take photos in public. 🙂

Lol. I hear you on the awkwardness of taking outfit photos in public! I definitely get some side glances especially in the ‘burbs. I LOVE this off the shoulder dress and those wedge sandals! Perfect for a spring weekend 🙂
