Happy Monday!
Since my last life lately post, I signed a lease on a new apartment! I move into my new digs on August 12, but in the interim, have been getting all my ducks in a row. On the less fun front, I’ve scheduled movers, began researching move-out cleaners, canceled my Comcast subscription, and made a list of the services I’ll need to transfer and places where I’ll need to update my address.
On the fun front, I’ve been doing a lot of shopping! So that things don’t get out of control, I made a master list of everything I need (i.e. a couch, new dish towels) and want (i.e. palm leaf pillows, new art), so that I can buy a little bit with each paycheck so I don’t completely bust my budget. I’ve also been cleaning out my apartment and sorting items into donate/sell/throw way categories. I have a huge haul I need to take to my local donation center, soon!
But enough of my rambling—I wanted to share some of the things I’ve bought for the new place! I’m always on the hunt for great home goods, so if you have any pieces you think I’d like—please send them my way. Happy shopping!
Y’all! I bought a couch! This might be the most “adult” purchase I’ve ever made. I went back and forth a lot on this couch—mostly because of the price tag, but after almost settling for a few other options, I’m really glad I ended up with the one I wanted all along.
My current coffee table is this IKEA hack, and while it’s hard to beat a $40 coffee table, it’s definitely showing it’s wear after two years. I love the gold-and-glass look, so I’m excited I found a similar coffee table that’s a bit more sturdy and professionally sealed.
You’re probably sick of me talking about these palm print pillows, but I am happy to report I am now the proud owner of two of these bad boys. I think they will look great on my couch! I’m thinking about adding in a solid color pillow as well—any thoughts on color?
My mom gave me a set of this gold flatware for my birthday a few years ago and I love eating with these! Since my roommate had brought half of our silverware, I just bought a 120-piece set to go with the set I already have so I had more than enough flatware to make it through the week without running a half-empty dishwasher. And I can personally attest—the gold doesn’t chip or scratch.
I’ve had a set of 8 of these round beaded dinner plates for years, but they are huge and definitely don’t help with portion control! So, I went ahead and bought eight of the salad plates to go along with my dinner set. They’re smaller, but still equally as pretty—and you can’t beat the price.
If you watch my Instagram story before about 7:30pm today, you’ll be able to see these pineapple placements on my dining table! I thought they were perfect for summer, and a practical way to protect my wood kitchen table.
This item is more fun than practical—and definitely not a life necessity, but how cute is this boot umbrella stand? I’m sure it’ll come in handy as my new apartment is within walking distance to work, and I have a knack for getting caught in the rain.
I love everything you got. The rainboots are adorable. The couch looks so comfortable. I love the color of the couch.

Thanks lady! I will report back on its comfort level :]
So excited for you and your new space!!! The couch is PERFECT.
Thanks so much, Monica! x
That couch is amazing! Having the sectional will be SO nice! Can’t wait to see the progress of your new space.
Thanks so much, Diana! I am so excited to have a sectional – my first! x
Yay, can’t wait to follow along with your decorating process! I love the palm leaf. Also, I was browsing the Target website and came across this adorable towel, which I’ll definitely have to order: https://www.target.com/p/kitchen-towel-quest/-/A-52158860
EEK! I am adding that Target towel to my cart as we speak. Thanks for sharing!
Judging by what you’ve picked up so far, your apartment is going to be SO cute!! I can’t wait to see how it all comes together!
Thanks so much, Gentry! Can’t wait to share with y’all! x
I love your choices! While the price does matter, I’ve found that most of the time you should just get what you want. I really like all the pineapple stuff and I LOVE the umbrella holder. How cute is that?!
That is so true about just getting what you want – otherwise you’ll spend more money down the line to replace it! And thank you! Useful too ;]
Can’t WAIT to see pictures of your new place! I love these finds and picturing them in an apartment is so exciting! It’s going to be beautiful!
Also…probably will be buying that umbrella stand just because it’s so cute!

Thanks Shannon! Definitely treat yourself with it :]
I am obsessed with gold flatware! The next time I move I am totally getting some!
Thanks Amanda! I love it!
I LOOOOOVE that couch and when its time to unload mine, I’m definitely going to get one like this. In other news, I almost bought those pineapple placemats at Target the other day, but I’m trying to be patient and wait until they go on sale, but most likely will just buy them this weekend 🙂
Thank you so much! And YES! Arn’t they the cutest? It’s hard not to wait for a sale…so I say you do it ;]
Those pineapple placemats are adorable! And I’m digging the couch. Mine is similar – it’s nice to stretch out on the end spot!
Thanks, Rachel! I am so, so excited!
Very well written and explained post. Enjoyed reading it thanks for sharing
