Happy Monday!
How was everyone’s weekend?
I was home again this weekend, which was much-needed. On Friday night, I grabbed drinks and nachos with my sister, cousin, and college bestie before going to the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill Soul 2 Soul World Tour. Y’all—it was such a good concert! They sang so many of their older songs, many of which were my favorites throughout childhood, and both are such good entertainers. We also had great seats!
The rest of the weekend was very productive. I went to Orangetheory, had my car washed for the first time in months, grabbed groceries for the week, and hung out with my family as my youngest sister was home from Clemson for fall break!
This week is shaping up to be a busy one—on Tuesday, I’m flying down and back to Durham, North Carolina for the day for work. Then, on Thursday morning, I fly to San Francisco for a five-day trip with my friend Emma! We haven’t spent more than 24 hours together in over a year, and I’m excited for explore a new city with a friend who shares many of the same travel and life philosophies as I do. (Read: there will be a lot of wining and dining!)
Now that summer seems to have slipped away and fall temperatures are becoming the everyday norm, I wanted to share a few fall fashion finds I’ve added to my closet recently. Though I definitely still fall victim to the impulse buy, I’m really trying to make sure I love the design and fit of each item I keep. (And I’ve been adding older clothes I no longer love or wear to my Poshmark closet!)
So without further ado, here are my recent fall finds. I hope everyone has a good start to their week! x
My friend Ashlee picked these beauties up in Navy, and I knew they had to come home with me, too—especially when I learned they were only $80! I opted to get them in the bush color since I wear a lot of black in the winter and wasn’t sure a navy x black combo would always work for me. I find they run true to size as the 7 works great for me. However, I will say, they are pretty stiff the first couple of wears, to be prepared to break them in for a little while.
This time of year, one of my favorite outfits for work is a pair of black crop pants and a nice black blouse. I snagged this one from Ann Taylor since I loved the tie-front and dotted detail. It is somewhat see-through, so I’ve opted to wear a black cami underneath it for work. On the weekend, I could easily do without the cami—but want to keep it professional in the office.
I was a BP Trolley Bootie loyalist for years. I bought two pairs—black and a congac—back in 2014 and spent the next three falls and winters essentially walking through them. When I went to purchase new pairs for this season, I discovered that BP had redesigned the Trolley bootie—now called the Lance Block Heel Bootie—so I decided to try a pair. Good news—they are just as fab as the trolley bootie, so I purchased these in black and cognac. I find they run small, so I bought a half-size up.
I purchased a Halogen Drop Waist dress during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and loved the quality and fit for the price point—under $100! So when I was looking for a new work dress to add to the rotation, I started browsing the Halogen dress selection at Nordstrom and stumbled upon this beautiful number. I find that Halogen dresses run slightly large—I stuck with a Medium, but both are a tad roomy. If you’re in-between sizes, I recommend going a size down.
Monica was wearing these sneakers the last time we were hanging out, and I knew I had to snag them, too. These were somewhat of an impulse buy—I loved how lightweight they are and the black Nike swoosh—but I was looking for another pair of shoes to add into my sneaker rotation for OTF. It’s the little things!
Love those jeweled loafers! They are so elegant and pretty.
