Happy Tuesday, ladies!
Thanks so much for bearing with me these past few weeks with such an irregular blog schedule!
This past weekend was definitely a highlight of my summer so far—my cousin Ali got married, and I gained a wonderful new cousin-in-law, Ryan! My family flew out to Chicago on Friday, and then drove to Naperville where the ceremony and reception were held. I was honored to be a reader in their wedding and spend some extra time with them at the Rehearsal Dinner.
The reception was absolutely stunning! The weather on the patio for cocktail hour was perfect, and the best man gave a rousing toast followed by my cousins’ heartfelt tribute to their sister. We spent the rest of the night tearing up the dance floor and then moved the party over to the hotel bar.
Am I the only one that gets post-wedding blues even though I’m not the bride?
I’ve pretty much come to swear by Rent the Runway for dresses for weddings—I have two more on the calendar this year and three already lined up for next year—and this particular Cynthia Rowley dress was amazing. I first spotted it on my friend Kristyn a few months ago, I knew it would be perfect for a Chicago summertime wedding. I loved the color block and since the wedding ceremony was a full Catholic Mass, I wanted to go a little conservative.
Definitely snag the larger size as your backup—I found it ran a little small.
My only regret right now is not renting more dresses for The Blog Societies Conference, which kicks off Thursday!

What a pretty dress! Weddings are always so much fun, I hate when they’re over too!
Glad I am not the only one!
That is such a beautiful dress! I love that the two-tone look is subtle. I’ve actually never tried Rent the Runway before, but I know a lot of people sweat by it!
Something About That
It definitely is a little nerve-wracking at first, but so so worth it!
