Charleston, man—that classic city was the perfect backdrop for this classic navy shift dress.
As most of you know, I spent the last weekend in June at the Southern Blog Society Conference (#SBScon), and whipped out this ensemble to wear for the panel and networking suite portion of the conference. The panel lasted about four hours on Saturday morning, followed by a less-structured afternoon of networking. (Be sure to check out some of what I learned here!)
So while day was long, this classic dress was not only comfortable, but made me feel extra confident talking with new brands and bloggers about A Touch of Teal.
Now, if I’m being honest, I was definitely nervous about what to wear throughout the duration of the conference. I mean, hello—75 of the top fashion bloggers in the Southern United States in the same room? That’s hella intimidating.
So, I did what any rational person would do: I ordered half of Nordstrom online and kept about three of the thirty pieces I shipped to myself.
After trying everything from the bold to the edgy to the totally-100-percent-not-me, I came to the revelation that I’d look my best, and therefore have the best time, if I was true to myself in my clothing choices. And I have always been a sucker for Everly and classic shapes, so when this beauty showed up at my door, it was one of the few pieces I knew I needed to take to Charleston with me.
What I also love about this dress is that you can style it up or down, making it perfect for a more professional setting, like this conference or work, or a less formal setting, like dinner al fresco with your friends. And, it comes in two other colors if navy isn’t your thing.
I rounded out the rest of my suitcase with my entire closet a hefty selection of classic staples that I’m excited to share with you over the next couple of weeks!
