Guess who’s back from the very colorful Charleston!
Several things to start off this post—first, thanks to everyone for being so supportive of my blogcation. It was just what I needed to get through a crazy couple of days, and I am so excited to hit the ground running with all the new ideas I learned at the Southern Blog Society Conference (#SBSCon) this past weekend.
Which brings me to my second point—holy inspiration! Not only did I shoot a full content library of outfit posts coming you’re way soon, I picked up so much knowledge I want to pass on. So, look for a lot of “learn” posts in the coming weeks.
What about y’all—what have you been up to while I was gone?
///
So to start off the recap, as y’all know, I headed down to the Holy City last Thursday with my roommates for the weekend: Jenn, Alicia, and Kristyn.
(Of course, in many ways the trip started two days prior when I began overpacking!)
While we hoped to land at CHS around 9 pm, just in time to hit the town, we ended up sitting on the tarmac for an hour after our flight was already delayed. (Sidenote—how cruel is it that they don’t serve wine when this happens?! Le sigh.)
We didn’t touch down in South Carolina until around 11 pm, and ended up staying in ooh-ing and ahh-ing over our amazing room at the Belmond Charleston. This relaxing night in actually ended up being a blessing in disguise as we were relaxed and refreshed for a hectic Friday—more on that coming soon!
Since Charleston is known for its bright colorful houses, when I saw this Charles Henry Crepe Shirtdress, I knew it had to come with me. Although the long sleeves made it a tad impractical in the Low Country heat, since it is so light, it was perfect for an afternoon stroll checking out some of the quaint streets near our hotel.
Paired with my go-to summer sandals which are great for sightseeing and a Panama hat to stay cool, this ensemble was very much the embodiment of Charleston—colors and all.
