TGIT, ladies! You know what that means—Scandal is back tonight!
And on top of that—it’s Friday tomorrow! (If you still haven’t nailed down your Valentine’s Day plans, definitely make sure this Berry Champagne Cocktail is on the menu.)
Now I don’t know about you, but I typically don’t wear outfits like this on weekends. And I definitely don’t wear this. So today, I thought it’d be fun to show you my laid-back, typical winter weekend uniform.
In the summer, I am definitely a social butterfly. Brunch? I’m there with bells and whistles. Hanging by the apartment pool? You bet. Spend the day wandering the city aimlessly? Duh.
Yet in the winter, I tend to hibernate and hunker down with my to-do list. I’m not sure if this is because the days seem shorter due to less daylight or if there’s less activities to do since the weather is generally bad, but my favorite place to be from January through March on weekends is my apartment.
Lately, I’ve been ringing in the weekend with a Friday night wine night and my Laguna Beach DVDs. (A true rager, I know.) Then on Saturdays, I venture out with friends to an indoor brunch or house party. I keep Sundays for myself to work on homework, blog work, or to catch up on TV—I’m into Suits and American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ right now—before attending 6 pm Mass and grocery shopping right after. This loose routine really works for me as its a good mix of socializing and down time.
So barring a night out, you can pretty much guarantee I’m running around in my favorite leggings on the weekends. (I love them so much, I just bought the mesh-paneled ones too!)
I also really hate winter, and especially hate all the layers that go with it, so since I spend most of my weekends running in and out of my car or running to and from buildings, I generally forgo a huge parka and keep things light with a Patagonia ‘Better Sweater’ Vest. Is this a little crazy? Sure (my mom thinks so, too). But I can’t be the only one out there who also hates driving in a puffed up jacket!
I finish the whole look off with my white Converse because they’re comfortable and I love the white/black combo. So now I have to ask—what’s your weekend uniform?

I love laid back outfit posts! It reminds me that everyone owns at least one pair of sweats 🙂 I love that tote + the pop of pink you added to it. Also… SO HAPPY TGIT is back! I’ve been through all of Grey’s Anatomy and Friends since all my Thursday shows have been gone. xo

Thanks Jennifer! xx
I am right there with you on the hibernation right now. I didn’t leave my house today at all! Okay, that’s a lie. I left for about 2 minutes to take my dogs out, but they were as unimpressed by the cold as I was.
This is a perfect weekend uniform! It’s pretty similar to mine 🙂
