Champagne at Bergdorf Goodman

I spent this past weekend in New York City hanging out with my friend, Emma, from college and her best friends, who, overtime, have become some of my best friends, too. Even though it wasn’t a warm spring weekend by any stretch, it was seriously one of the best weekends I’ve had in a while. And miraculously, even with the time change, I wasn’t super exhausted when I got home—a huge win considering I usually can’t hang late night like I used to!

I wanted to share one really cool experience Emma arranged for us while I was in NYC — an afternoon lunch at the BG Restaurant at Bergdorf Goodman located on 5th Avenue overlooking Central Park.

The restaurant is located on the 7th floor, and we took the escalators up instead of the elevator so we could peek at some of the beautiful clothing, shoes, and home goods. We had a reservation, which I highly recommend snagging from Open Table, and were lucky enough to snag a table right next to a window, so we were able to enjoy the sweeping views of the Park first hand. I can only imagine how lush the view looks in the summer or how colorful it must be in fall.

We were initially going to do tea, but decided once we were there we were hungry for “real” lunch and craving some bubbly. Emma opted for the Sheer Glamour cocktail, which was made with sparkling wine, chambord, plum bitters, sugar, and lemon. I opted for the Taltarni Brut Rosé and it was so good—not too sweet, but not too dry either. We both got the Gotham Salad and tried both the dressing options—thousand island and honey dijon. It was delicious!

If you’re looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon that’s truly “New York,” I can’t recommend stopping by BG Restaurant enough—even if for just a drink at the bar!
