Happy Wednesday, ladies! Today I want to introduce you to one of my all-time favorite paper companies: Basic Invite.
While Basic Invite is a one-stop shop for all your paper needs—think wedding invites, save-the-dates, graduation announcements—I wanted to talk to y’all today about their thank you cards since no matter what stage of life you’re in, chances are you need a thank you note for something.
If you’re a bride—like a lot of my friends are becoming!—they have the most beautiful bridal shower and wedding thank you cards. If you’re graduating this December like I am—or still have some thanking from May to do—they have a whole slew of graduation thank you notes. Or if you’re simply in need of a professional or personal card of appreciation, Basic Invite has the best collection of personalized thank you cards like the ones I shot for this post.
Now for those of you that have been reading A Touch of Teal for a while, you know that I do a lot of graphic design for my day job, and as a result, am used to having all the creative control when designing cards and invites that Adobe products give you.
Fear, not my fellow creatives, fear not. Basic Invite pretty gives you complete creative control. Once you select a design, you can change the color of each element on the card to over 160 different color options so you can make sure the card is exactly how you want it down to the littlest detail. You can also change the font typeface and size and the location of the text on the card, or remove elements completely if you desire.
If that all fails? You can always upload your own!
To give you a sense of the creative control I really had on the Basic Invite website card editor, these were the six thank you cards featured in this post as they were initially designed. I edited the first three cards more than the latter three:
- Tropical Flower Thank You Card
- Tropical Drink Thank You Card
- Glamorous Thank You Card
- String Lights Thank You Card
- Brush Script Thank You Card
- Nautical Anchor Thank You Card
If you’re considering using Basic Invite for a larger event, like a wedding or holiday party, I’d highly recommend it. They are one of the few paper companies that allow you to order a printed sample of the actual invitation or thank you card before purchasing the entire set. This means you can see what the exact stationery piece will look like before committing to ordering all 200-300.
If you’re looking for something a little more upscale, they also offer a range of varying paperweights and have 40 different envelope colors you can select from.
As I was putting together this post, I also realized that each of these thank you cards is part of a bigger suite of designs. For instance, the tropical flower thank you card has a matching save-the-date, wedding invite, wedding menu, and many other formats to fit all your needs for your event.
Needless to say, this will not be my last time using Basic Invite!
Thank you to Basic Invite for sponsoring this post! As always, opinions are my own, and thank you for supporting the brands that keep A Touch of Teal’s doors open!

The are so cute! I’ll admit, I haven’t been great with handwritten notes lately but I think it’s time to bring them back!
