Park City roll call—who’s been and who else is going before the end of ski season?
I’ve never been to Park City before, let alone Utah, but am excited for an excuse to head west of the Mississippi and ski for the first time. Of course, there a ton of ski resorts within driving distance of DC and I chose the Rockies for my first ski trip. You could say I like a challenge.
This whole trip came about during a wine night with my second-year college roommates back around Thanksgiving. (We affectionately call ourselves the Wolfpack, though I don’t remember experiencing a single hangover back then, but I digress.)
My best friend from middle school and high school, H, was also one of my roommates second year and while we were living in UVA’s storied Lambeth Field apartments, her Aunt and Uncle moved out to Park City. We’ve been talking about making the trek to Utah ever since, but either our schedules lined up or we were living the unpaid intern life and it never really worked out. Until now!
Soon after New Years, we booked our five-day trip through an Orbitz deal. It was our first time using Orbitz packages, but we have no complaints so far and saved a lot of money booking our hotel and airfare together. I’ll be sure to give y’all the full recap on using Orbitz once we’re back from the trip.
I’m especially excited because even though we’ve been friends for over ten years now, H and I have never been on a “for pleasure” trip together and I am excited to explore Park City with her and M!
So while we don’t leave for a month, I’m in full-on prep mode. Luckily, my Mom had some ski pants at our house and we can rent most of our gear out there. So, I’m focusing on lodge-chic fashion, which lead me to this awesome Banana Republic Fringe Hem Sweater that I’ve been wearing ever since it arrived in the mail a few weeks ago. It’s the perfect length to wear with leggings and it’s perfect for brunch since the fringe adds a fun flirty element to the classic cable knit sweater.
Not to mention, this bad boy is warm which I have a feeling is going to be of utmost importance in Park City!
So I’d love to know—what’s your must-have ski gear? What Park City attractions are can’t-miss? Where should we eat? Any insights would be so appreciated! x

First of all, LOVE this winter white ensemble! That BR fringe sweater is too cute! And secondly, sooo jealous you’re heading out to Park City! My brother was there a few years ago and raved about it! I’m sure you’re going to have the best time! Can’t wait to see your photos from your trip.

That sweater is the bomb.com! And I love that you added a pop color lipstick – I feel like it takes what could be a normal every day outfit and elevates it like crazy.

Something About That
Thanks so much Jackie! Might be wearing this look on repeat through April! xx
Oh I’m SO excited for you! I went to Park City a couple years ago for Sundance and it was my first time going skiing too! I was terrible at it because I had all the worst-case scenarios rolling through my head (e.g. I’m gonna go super fast downhill, crash, and die), butttttt it was still a very fun time! I highly recommend eating dinner at Riverhorse on Main (a bit pricey but the best steak I’ve ever had), getting coffee at Java Cow (legit my favorite coffee shop ever), and if you’re up for it, going to the Olympic Park and going on an actual bobsled track!!
Sounds like SUCH a fun time! Thanks for all the recs, R! I’ll be sure to report back :]
You’re the cutest and I love this outfit.
xoxo, Jenny
