Happy Monday, y’all! How was everyone’s weekend?
It was super rainy here in DC, so I kept it mostly low key around the apartment. I was able to grab my sister’s Hulu password and watched It Takes Two for the first time in years. As I mentioned in this post, I’ve been on a kick where I’m watching movies from my childhood. It Takes Two was always a favorite—I loved the Olsen twins as a kid and I loved that Alyssa and Amanda switched places and caused such antics. When I first started watching Friends in early high school, I couldn’t get over the fact that Carol was Clarice Kensington.
Speaking of Hulu, in my DC apartment come September, I’m finally living the true millennial dream and cutting cable. Though I watch it from time to time now, I definitely don’t watch enough TV to justify the $100/month charge and often find when I do watch TV, I’m watching content on Netflix or Amazon Prime. Worst case scenario, I know Verizon will always sell me cable back.
This week is a short one at work for me—on Wednesday my family is heading to Newport, Rhode Island for vacation and I am so looking forward to it! We haven’t been since 2005, so I’m excited to see it again and make some new memories in town.
For the trip, I’m definitely taking this American Eagle Ruffle Culotte Jumpsuit with me. I snagged it right before I went to Charleston solo at American Eagle for $30. AE was one of my favorite stores to shop in high school, but I haven’t shopped their regularly in years. The store generally still definitely targets a younger demographic—so many crop tops!—but the ruffle details and pattern on this jumpsuit were just too good to pass up. And while it’s fully lined, it is super lightweight and breathable—I wore it a whole day walking around in the Charleston summertime heat.
For size reference, I am 5’4″ and bought this piece in the medium short length—it worked out perfectly!
