How is everyone’s week going so far?
April has been a really crazy month for me, and as a result, I haven’t been working out or eating as clean as I should be these last couple of weeks. Luckily, the only thing on my calendar this week is a work dinner tomorrow at Convivial. Outside of that indulgent meal, I’m excited to hit up Orangetheory, get my greens, and cook some meals at home.
Speaking of greens, I picked up the Green Goddess dressing at Trader Joe’s this weekend—have you tried it? If not, definitely add it to your cart next time! I think one of the things I love most about the fast-casual salad places I frequent (Sweetgreen, Sweet Leaf, Chop’t) is the quality of their dressings. They’re just so fresh and don’t have that sweet flavor that store-bought dressings tend to. This Green Goddess dressing literally has no sugar and is made up of whole, real ingredients—and it shows in the taste! Another thing I added to my cart this past weekend were the Spinach and Kale Bites from the frozen foods section. Molly had these for us on Friday night when we were visiting here in Charlottesville and I loved them so much, I ran to the store as soon as I got home to pick some up!
Ok, now that I’ve gone on a tangent about my recent Trader Joe’s finds—let me to get to the point of today’s post: this $12 floral jacket from Amazon!
I first saw this beauty over on Shelby’s blog and knew I had to have it. The print is SO cute! I love wearing it over dresses for a fun work outfit or pairing it with a fun top like I have here for a colorful weekend look.
So you know what you’re getting into, I will say the quality isn’t the best—but, you get what you pay for! The fabric is pretty thin—almost the weight of a cardigan—and does not stretch. As such, I’d recommend sizing up, maybe even two sizes depending on how you plan to layer it. The shipping is somewhat slow (it’s not Prime eligible)—I think mine took close to three weeks to arrive. But, for $12, it really can’t be beat and it is definitely a workhorse in my closet this spring!

These are the last of the outfit photos I took in New Orleans last month. Even though it was somewhat of a pain to take extra outfits, change in a hotel, and take time away from my friends on vacation, it was fun to collaborate with a new photographer and was well worth the effort in the end. It’s definitely something I want to continue to do throughout my travels. Even if you don’t have a blog, it could be fun to have a photographer shoot you with your friends, family, or significant other on your next trip—the pictures are a fun way to commemorate the experience!
