7 Apps I’m Loving Right Now

Thought we’d mix things up this Friday!

Instead of my weekly link love round up, I thought I’d share something a little different, but equally as useful—the 7 apps I’m loving right now. Admittedly, I’m not really an app gal. Until recently, all my apps fit on the homepage of my iPhone. I don’t like carrying around anything I don’t need—even digitally—and before I upgraded to an iPhone 7, my 16 GB phone needed every last byte for photos and my expansive Christmas music collection.

(If you don’t have 18 versions of O Holy Night at your disposal 24/7, then what’s the point of life, you know?)

But, after trying and loving a few new-to-me apps that have been constantly recommended to me by friends and colleagues for years, I’ve been looking for more apps that help eliminate friction in my life, save/earn me money, or bring me joy. Besides the standard social media apps—Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat—below is a round up of the apps I’m loving as of late. I’d love to know if you have any favorites I should check out! Have a great weekend. x

WUNDERLIST—I used to make my to-do list in the iPhones notes app, but you can’t move items around easily and star the most important tasks. Wunderlist also gives you great satisfaction because you can check things off, just like on pen and paper. You can also share to-do list with other individuals, organize lists by folder, and easily keep multiple lists going at the same time. I have a list for movies I want to watch, groceries, blog post ideas, blog backend to-dos, and a general life to do list. This app really has helped simplify my list-making process!

SPOTIFY—I know, I know. Everyone else converted to Spotify the second it dropped when we were in college. I literally bought $1.29 songs on iTunes until January 5. But, my sister sold me on Spotify during our New Years road trip, and I am kicking myself for not jumping on the bandwagon sooner. Still on the $0.99 for three months trial so it’s especially sweet. My playlists are public if you want to follow!

PLANOLY—I’m working on creating an even-more cohesive brand on Instagram, and Monica sold me on the benefits of Planoly. It lets you upload the pictures and videos you want to post next, see how they look on your feed, and schedule them accordingly. It also shows you post analytics, which is great for determining the best time of day to post.

LASTPASS—I used to rotate between two and three passwords on every site. I know that is basically a cybersecurity nightmare, so I looked into password management systems. I love Lastpass, and at a $1 a month, it’s hard to beat. Now, every website I am a member of is unlocked with a different password and when you go to make a new account, it generates a password and saves it automatically for you. It also has a great mobile app, so you can access those passwords on the go. Never remember another pw again!

MY FITNESS PAL—I’m trying to keep myself more accountable in the new year, and anytime I’ve lost significant amounts of weight or felt extremely strong, I’ve tracked what I was eating. I love how clean the interface of this tracker is, plus nearly every food I’ve wanted to track is already pre-loaded into its database. Added bonus—it’s free!

POSHMARK—Full post on Poshmark coming next week, but this is my favorite app for selling gently-used clothing. All you do is snap four pictures of the item, write a short description, and set your price! Like other social media platforms, your posts will be seen by more people the more they are interacted with—so my advice for Postmark is to get social! But, like I said, more on that next week.

ONE SECOND EVERYDAY—Saved the best for last! I wrote about my obsession with 1SE and shared a snippet of my video in this post, but I consider this app my version of a gratitude journal. It’s a fun way to celebrate both the ordinary and the extraordinary. It’s $4.99 to download, but everyone I’ve persuaded peer pressured to do so is loving it.

  3. I just re-downloaded My Fitness Pal! It’s such an amazing app but I always forget to record what I eat every day. I have now set up a reminder in the app to send me a notification once a day as a reminder and it’s super helpful!
