Y’all, I have been in a MOOD this week—I try really hard not to wish my life away, but it’s one of those times when I am definitely working for the weekend. I think the problem is I didn’t get nearly enough sleep this weekend, so I’ve been playing catch up ever since. I went to bed early after This Is Us last night, so I’m hoping things are back on track.
On a positive note, I’m tired because I had a great weekend here in DC. I started things off with a fun wine night downtown at Fig & Olive with my good friend, Laura. Shockingly, I’d never been before, and I loved it—the furniture made it feel like we were enjoying a cheese board in the middle of Restoration Hardware. On Saturday night, my best friend’s boyfriend hosted a cooking class for us, and taught us how to make homemade bruschetta, chicken parmesan, and pasta from scratch. It was such a fun way to spend time and make memories with good friends, and I think we’re going to try to make it a regular thing!
This coming weekend should be equally as fun—and probably even a bit more exhausting!—as I am visiting some of my best friends up in New York City. They’re supposed to get slammed with a snowstorm tomorrow, so I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that the weather has moved out of the area in time for my plane to land on Friday evening. Follow me over on Instagram for a real time look of my adventures in the city that never sleeps—I’ll be sure to fill you all in on how the trip was next week.
When I went to The Greenbrier weekend before last, it was unseasonably warm for February so wearing this Loft Shoulder Ruffle Shirtdress without tights or a jacket was possible. 60 degree weather, please come back soon!
Lately, I noticed that the majority of my work wardrobe was black—and while I definitely love black pieces, I wanted to get a little more color in my wardrobe ahead of spring. This Loft Shoulder Ruffle Shirtdress is perfect for this weird transitional time of year when winter is winding down, but spring isn’t quite here yet. The colors are beautiful and it’s fun and flirty while still being conservative enough for an office. I do feel like sizing is hit or miss at LOFT, but I bought this one in a regular medium and it fits great. Some of the online reviews say this dress runs short, so just a heads up if you’re taller. (I’m 5’4″ for reference.)
I’d love to know what you’re wearing to work these days! x
