We’re halfway through the week, team! How are things going for you?
My week is busy—you know how December goes! On Monday, I had two happy hours I was considering going to, but at the last minute, decided to skip both and enjoy a nice night at home. I can’t remember the last time I went straight home after work. Since I usually workout after work on the nights I don’t have social plans, I don’t get home until 7:45 or 8pm. It was a real treat to be home by 6:30pm, I almost didn’t know what to do with all my time! Don’t forget to take some time for yourself this holiday season when you need it, self care is really important this time of year.
Even though it’s been busy, this week holds one of my favorite events of the season—my company holiday party! We do it big, complete with a party bus, a wonderful main event, and an afterparty. This year, I rented both this dress and this dress for the event. They come tonight and I am going to wear whichever one fits best! I’ve rented the latter before, so I know it is a safe bet, which is always reassuring when you’re renting—plus, I love the gold detailing on the bottom.
Switching gears to another fun holiday outfit—you may remember these amazing sequin leggings from this post last year, but they are one of my favorite festive pieces for the holidays, so I had to share them with you again. And, good news—it looks like Express realized how in-demand these leggings are, so unlike years past, they still have all sizes in stock! These would be the perfect pants for New Years Eve or any cocktail party this December where you don’t want to wear a dress, but still want to feel “dressed up.”
I found that these leggings run true-to-size and if you wash them inside out on a delicate cycle, they hold up really well. The sequins are sewn on well so they don’t shed very easily. However, be warned that they don’t have the best lining, so they can be a little bit itchy, but nothing unbearable.
And if you’re looking for a great pair of shoes to wear to holiday festivities, I can’t recommend the J Crew Factory Patent High Heel Sandals enough. I’ve been swearing by these for years here on the blog—I own them in nude and black, but they also come in silver and gold. In fact, I love these shoes so much that I am now on my second pair of both colors. I plan to wear these black ones to my holiday party on Thursday because they’re the only heels I know I can last all night in.
