Sequin Leggings for New Years Eve

Hello, party people!

How is your week-before-Christmas going? Are you as distracted as I am?

For some reason, every year, New Years Eve sneaks up on me, so I wanted to get a head start on outfit prep. I personally am in the camp that thinks NYE is a slightly overrated holiday—you feel like you have to have plans, when in reality, you want to be at home in your $12 pajamas drinking Relax Riesling watching Ryan Seacrest. Instead, you’re at a $140-ticket event and you still have to fight your way to the front of the open bar. This year though, I’m switching it up and heading to North Carolina to ring in 2017 with family. We’re throwing my cousin a bridal shower on the 31st and having a big party that evening. It should be a lot of fun, and it was a goal of mine to take advantage of the 10 days I have off to travel some.

Now, let’s talk about what you’re really here for—these Express Sequin Leggings.

I fell in love with them last year a few days after Black Friday, only to discover they were sold out online and at every store within a 50-mile radius of my apartment. I know the latter because I called every Express store and begged them to check the shelves for me. Where there’s a will, there’s a way, right?

Luckily, they restocked these back in October and sold out long before Black Friday, but have restocked them several times since. So, if you’re like me and get obsessive about tracking down the clothing item you just have to have, definitely keep checking the Express website. Despite being covered in sequins, they are surprisingly comfortable. I also found they ran a little large, so I sized down and love pairing them with black accessories so they really pop.

While I usually opt for a dress for NYE, this year, you can bet I’ll be wearing these sequin leggings. Cheers to 2017! x

  4. These are my all time favorite sequin leggings! They are actually my first ever blog post so they are a little special 🙂 You look amazing in them and I’m with you about wanting to be on the couch and not in the bar nightmare that usually happens. I don’t have NYE plans yet and I sort of love it!

I feel the same way about NYE – it always get so much hype and then oftentimes I feel it is a bit of a let down. the last few years I’ve been approaching it with very minimal expectations and that definitely helps. Love the leggings by the way – no shame in calling all the stores – I have 100% done that for items before.

Yes! Expectation is the root of all heartache, so it is always best to go in not expecting anything. I am so glad I am not the only one that has tracked down items!
