As promised in my beauty lineup post, I wanted to also share my go-to makeup products with you all. (And, of course, learn more about the products you swear by!)
On week days—well, most days really—I tend to keep things really simple. I was definitely never one of those girls who ripped the beauty section out of magazines in high school to perfect the tricks of the trade, and I don’t consider myself a Sehpora junkie now. But along the way, I’ve found some products that work extremely well for me:
Tarte Eyelash Curler—In the past, I was never a big advocate for eye lash curlers, but my friend Monique really turned me onto this one, and it’s become an integral part of my beauty routine. It really helps add a little something to my lash game. Pro tip—put your lash curler under your hairdryer for 5-10 seconds prior to using it for even better results.
Benefit High Beam—Highlighter is one of my favorite things to wear for a night out on the town or drinks after work. This one works like a charm. I only own sample sizes of it, and they last forever, so I know the regularly priced $26 one is also worth it.
L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara—I used to be a huge fan of Benefit’s “They’re Real” Mascara, but also really grappled with spending $23 on a tube of mascara. My mom bought me some of this L’Oreal mascara a few months ago and let me tell you, I am hooked. This stuff does not go on clumpy and has a two-sided wand so you can easily apply and then fan out your mascara to create that full-lash look we all lust after.
Benefit Hoola—On the days I decide I want to contour my face, this is my go-to bronzer. I brush it over my cheek bones, forehead, and chin for a nice tanned look. It looks so natural, and even has a slight rosy tint to it.
Revlon Color Stay Liquid Liner—I have sworn by liquid eyeliner (this exact one!) since high school. It stays on all day with minimal smudging, and the applicator is really easy to control. I have also tried the popular Stila liquid eyeliner, but I think this trusty Revlon one works better—and is half the cost!
Naked Eyeshadow Palette—Hands down, my favorite eye shadow ever. I don’t even bother with anything else anymore because these colors are so complimentary and really stay on. I’ve had my palette for a year and only slightly worn down my two favorite colors (Sin and Sidecar). You can also buy Urban Decay eyeshadows individually if you’re like me and tend to lean towards a few favorites, which is probably what I will do in the future, but this is a fabulous “sampler pack.”
Urban Decay Primer—A great compliment to my Naked Eyeshadow, this primer makes sure nothing smudges on my eyelids throughout the day. I’ve even used this stuff at an outdoor wedding in the middle of July with no complaints!
Supergoop Daily Correct CC Cream—Luckily, my skin is naturally pretty clear so I don’t wear foundation everyday—partly because I am lazy, and partly because I hate the “caked-on” feel. When I do wear foundation, I love this CC cream that I discovered through Birchbox. It’s self-adjusting to match your exact skin ton, and goes on so light. I seriously cannot recommend this stuff enough.
Benefit Bella Bamba—On the days I do wear foundation, I like to put some color back on my face, and this is my go-to blush. It’s a nice, light pink that’s perfect for the office since it’s so subdued and natural.
I’d love to know—what’s in your makeup lineup?
